While June's primary birthstone is pearl, its second birthstone is moonstone. Moonstones have a magical, ethereal quality about them, and are named for the iridescent rainbow within them that project a shimmery play of color similar to moonlight reflecting on water.
Pliny, the ancient Roman natural historian, thought that the moonstone changed in appearance with the phases of the moon. The ancient Romans also believed that the image of Diana, goddess of the moon, was enclosed within the stone. Moonstones were considered to have the power to bring victory, health, and wisdom to those who wore it.
A stone for “new beginnings", moonstone is a healing stone for inner growth and strength. It soothes emotional instability and stress, promoting a sense of calmness to the wearer.
Moonstones are a feminine gemstone, in that they offer a protective and nurturing energy. They are also thought to help with electromagnetic hypersensitivity. See our post on '4 Summery Gems for EMF & 5G Protection' here.
This beautiful, milky white iridescent gemstone enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, confidence, success and good fortune in love and business matters. I don't know about you, but that's a win-win for me!
